Frequently Asked Questions About Us

Below are questions and answers from one of our Puggles parents to someone that wanted references.

How did you learn about Danielle as a puggle breeder?
I found Danielle on a Breeder exchange site, can't remember which one though, it was last Fall.

Why did you decide to choose her?
I chose Danielle because she was in Indiana, and I wanted to be able to pick the baby up when she was ready.

Did you talk to any other breeders and if so, which ones?
I tried to talk to other breeders, sent out emails, and never got a response.

What made Danielle stand out among the others?
Danielle stood out because she answered all of my questions, even invited me out to her place to meet the dogs. I wasn't able to make it out, but i felt good knowing that I could set it up if I wanted to. She was great about everything. Very open about the whole process and ALWAYS answered my questions.

Who were your puppy's parents?
Chomper and Flush

Where are you from?
Charlestown, Indiana about 45 minutes from Danielle.

Did you pick up your puppy or have him/her sent to you?
I picked Mia up. Danielle met us at an exit close by, per our request. She even brought some of the other puppies to keep Mia happy and so we can meet them too.

How was your puppy when you brought him or her home?
Mia was quiet when we brought her home. She did get a tummy ache and diarrhea, which my vet assured me is very common when puppies go to a new home for the first time. The Vet told me stress is the factor there.

How is your puggle doing now?
Mia is fabulous and healthy. She will be 7 months old April 1. She's about 20lbs and built like a brick. She's heavier to pick up than she looks. She won't get any larger than she is right now. She is considered fully grown at 6 moths old.

Has he or she had any health or behavioral issues?
She did get a case of coccidiosis(sp) (a bug in the bowel), but my Vet told me that almost all puppies get this. It's common and they have to grow a little bit more in order for their bodies not to react. She never got it again after that.

What is his or her personality/disposition like?
She has a stubborn disposition. She is a great dog, and we are happy to have her, but she is stubborn. Never aggressive wants to be every one's buddy. She's not aggressive towards other dogs, she's pretty sure they will eat her. She's not cowardly either, but she's hesitant until she knows them. She loves squeaker stuffed animals too. She gets one and will run through the house squeaking squeaking squeaking, until she eats the squeaker out then she's satisfactorily killed it and done with it. She also loves to hide things like pig ears and rawhide bones. If you give her one, she whines and whimpers through the house like she's lost something until she can find a place to hide her "thing" then walks away like it didn't matter.

Would you purchase another puggle from Danielle?
I absolutely would purchase another puggle from Danielle. In fact, I was going to order a male this Fall, but went back to work full time. Maybe in another year though I will get one. Danielle called me to let me know some of the other babies in Mia's littler had gotten sick as well and watned ot make sure Mia alright. She sincerely cares about the puggles even after they leave her care. She loves to get pictures from us and other owners and sends emails now and then asking how we are doing. When the litter was born, Danielle sent us weekly updates and pictures of Mia as she was growing. My vet said she would even recommend Danielle if anyone was looking for a Puggle, because she thought she had done a terrific job with us and for the benefit of Mia.

Would you purchase another puggle at all?
Yes! Puggles are great dogs to have. Fabulous with kids and cats. She took a little longer to potty train that I would have liked, but that is my fault, not hers. Consistency is key with stubborn dogs. She mastered other behaviors very quickly though and fetch is probably her most favorite thing to play. We have had a great experience with puggles and we are very glad we chose this breed. She's made a fantastic family pet. We have four kids and it seems like she has a different relationship with each of them.
